We were at a friend’s pool the other day. It was everything you want in a perfect relaxing summer day. Sunny & hot. Beautiful crystal clear pool. Floating around on a tube without a care in the world until my big chocolate lab decided to join me. Calvin! He just swam away with a tennis ball in his mouth. It still was pretty nice. The best part – the pool of course. And the DE filter system that made that pool so clean and pretty. So when I came across this blog post on DE swim pool filters, I had to repost it!

Save Water With A Diatomaceous Earth Filter System: Stop Backwashing!

There’s some bad information going around right now about how much water is wasted with diatomaceous earth (DE) filter systems through backwashing. And it’s simply not true. All you need to do is stop backwashing and manually clean your filter instead, according to your filter manufacturer's instructions. It’s easy to do and you can still continue to use the best filter aid for swim pools – DE.

It’s not every day that you go to work and hear “we’re getting a guzzler!” It certainly sounded interesting, so I had to learn more. As I found out, it’s a special watering trough for the desert bighorn sheep.

Picture this. 6 inches of water on the field. You can’t see the grass or the dirt. And it’s right in the middle of Little League playoffs. That’s the situation that Northwest Little League from Austin, TX, found themselves in this past Monday. Thanks to a whole lot of Play Ball!® Infield Conditioner, they were able to play on Tuesday night.
